Across Greece, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

Duration: 31 months
Description: The Helios Junior program of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with experienced implementation partners. The action aims to facilitate the integration of 2,000 former unaccompanied minors into Greek society and the labor market, providing personalized services and support for their smooth transition from previous accommodation structures to independent living.
In summary, the services provided to the target group of the program concern:

Accommodation: Provision of accommodation in fully equipped apartments, for up to 18 months with parallel support and counseling services regarding independent living.

Integration Services: Development of an individual integration plan based on the profile, needs and goals of each migrant and continuous monitoring and support of the integration process, with the aim of developing and strengthening knowledge and skills necessary for integration into Greek society and the labor market. In this context, counseling and information services will be provided, as well as referrals to educational institutions for the learning of Greek language and vocational training programs as well as with job search services, support in the certification of knowledge and skills related to the goals of the individual integration plan, referral to services relevant to the needs and the individual integration plan.

Financial support: Provision of a monthly financial allowance of 150 euros, via a prepaid card for 16 months, to cover basic needs such as food, clothing, footwear, personal hygiene items, telecommunication services, transportation costs within the place of residence and basic educational and pharmaceutical expenses.
Registration requirements

Third-country nationals legally residing in Greece, former unaccompanied minors.

Individuals aged 18 to 21 years. At the date of their registration, they must be 18 years of age and not have exceeded 20 years and 6 months.

Individuals with full self-care capacity.

Individuals who do not use addictive substances.

Individuals who will follow the individual integration plan and the program instructions.
HOW
Individuals who meet the above requirements can apply as follows:

Individuals residing in a shelter or semi-independent apartment for unaccompanied minors or an emergency accommodation structure should contact the respective accommodation provider for submission and referral of the application.

Individuals residing in an accommodation facility should contact the Reception and Identification Service referral and submission of the application.

Individuals not residing in a facility of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum may contact the Migrant Integration Centers (KEM), and public or municipal social services of residence and the cooperating implementing agencies to submit their application.
