The Displacement Tracking Matrix DTM is one of the founding pillars of the GDI, alongside the Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) which gathers and analyzes data to disseminate critical multi layered information on the mobility, vulnerabilities, and needs of displaced and mobile populations that enables decision makers and responders to provide these populations with better context specific assistance.
DTM is used mostly to enhance disaster preparedness, it is completely voluntary and anonymous and is accordance with the GDPR guidance. Also DTM collects primary data to support advocacy and inform humanitarian response, is used to support/collaborate with other partners and is used to support transition and recovery.
Only trained IOM staff proceeding with this survey and will visit in coordination with MoMA, in all migrant long accommodation facilities, RICs and IOM’s UMC shelters.
The implementation period is by the end of December 2023.
