Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Greece, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

The project foresees the provision of medical, nursing and psychosocial support services to the residents of the regional services (accommodation facilities) of the Reception and Identification Service (RIS). The duration of the implementation of the Project is set at twelve (12) months starting from 01/07/2024. The foreseen services will be provided in the context of a holistic approach of primary health services, through the implementation of the defined sub-projects as described below, aiming at:
a) covering medical and psychosocial needs of the beneficiaries, in order to ensure the protection of their
physical and mental health, in accordance with the requirements of the Directive on reception conditions for
applicants for international protection (2013/33/EU)
b) the decongestion of local communities, Public Hospitals and in general all involved public bodies that provide
services in the areas where the Accommodation Facilities are located, as well as
c) the safeguarding of public health
