Announcement

During the last months the Government of Greece with the support of IOM, has been engaged in a process of transferring vulnerable migrants and asylum seekers from the Aegean islands to temporary and long – term accommodation facilities in the mainland. At the same time, IOM continues working closely with the Greek authorities and the European Commission in setting up additional accommodation places in open facilities, where eligible migrants from islands as well as from other urban areas in the mainland can be hosted. IOM stands ready to inform and support any migrant / asylum seeker in Greece, according to its mandate and within the framework of its activities.
