ANNOUNCEMENT

Considering some news circulating recently on the Press, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), would like to share the information that in the temporary accommodation facility located in the Municipality of Marathon and managed by IOM within the EU funded project FILOXENIA, up to date no positive COVID-19 cases have been detected. IOM in close coordination with the Greek Authorities and with the support of the European Commission, continues its operations inside the facility following the National Health protocol, and stands ready to take any action if the case requires so.

In addition, a positive COVID-19 case has been detected last week in a temporary accommodation facility located in the city of Thessaloniki. IOM and the Greek Authorities acted immediately and took all necessary actions as directed by national guidelines. The positive case remains under quarantine and all other residents have been tested and found negative to the virus.
