ANNOUNCEMENT

With reference to information recently circulated on media, The International Organization for Migration (IOM), would like to confirm that no information about possible COVID-19 quarantine of the temporary accommodation facility for migrants located in Sindos has been communicated by the relevant Greek authorities and the facility operates under no quarantine status.

Upon the detection of one positive COVID – 19 case among staff working in the facility and based on EODY guidance, all residents and employers were tested and found negative to the virus. The positive case remains under quarantine in a space outside the facility. IOM in close coordination with the Greek Authorities and with the support of the European Commission, continues its operations inside the facility following the National Health protocol, and stands ready to take any action if the case requires so.
