The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and IOM Support Municipalities Across Greece in Improving the Quality and Accessibility of Services for Local and Refugee Populations

Athens - The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), aiming at supporting the Greek local authorities in the reception and integration of migrants have been implementing targeted interventions, which included small-scale reconstruction of medical facilities and the purchase of additional equipment for local hospitals facilities.

In the same approach, the IOM REFRAME project funded by CEB, supported municipalities in the prevention and management of psychosocial and economic challenges for vulnerable groups, through the delivery of specific equipment. Over the past year, REFRAME Project developed synergies with the EU – funded IOM HELIOS project, assisting municipalities in the enhancement of local capacities to deliver services to newly arrived migrants and refugees as well as resident Greek population.

More specifically CEB and the IOM REFRAME project, supported the municipal social care clinic in Katerini, the Homeless Night Shelter and Municipal Social Laundry in Chania, the Shelter for Women victims of GBV, the Homeless Shelter, the Social Solidarity Community Clinic, and the Municipal Dental Clinic in Ioannina and the Social care centre in Karditsa.

All repairs and purchase of equipment were implemented under the framework of REFRAME project with the support of MFR fund of Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB).
