Two-day Employability Action “CareFair”
On the 24th and 25th of November 2021, the HELIOS project of the International Organization for Migration organizes the two-day employability action “CareFair” focusing on the care professions. The objective of the event is to inform the beneficiaries of international protection about the caregiving occupations by businesses’ and educational institutions’ representatives, as well as other professionals of the sector.
The event consists of two parts: On Wednesday 24th November (from 10: 00-17: 30) an online session will be held and on Thursday 25th November there will be an in vivo career day (10:00-14:00) The 2nd day of the event is hosted at Serafio City of Athens (Echelidon 19 & Pireos 144).
The purpose of the first day is to educate and inform via online presentations the refugee population about the needs of the Greek labor market in the care professions, the particularities of the field, as well as the necessary knowledge and skills related to them. At the same time, refugees will share with other prospective employees their own work experiences in the respective field in Greece. In addition, an informative session for the refugees will be provided regarding their labor rights in Greece.
On the second day, the main goal is to directly connect companies and educational institutions with people who belong to the refugee population and are looking for work and / or training opportunities in the care professions in Greece. For this purpose, representatives of companies and educational institutions will be present during the event, whom the participating refugees will be able to meet and communicate directly. Moreover, a special session will be conducted for companies in order to inform them about the labor rights of refugees in Greece and their prospects for integration into the Greek labor market.
This two-day event is addressed to the beneficiaries of IOM projects. For the actions of the two-day event there will be a simultaneous interpretation in Arabic, English, Farsi and French.
