Sina is a young asylum-seeker who lives in the Polykastro (Nea Kavala) accommodation facility. He comes from Ghana and since he was a young boy, he always wanted to get educated and be able, one day, to support unprivileged people. Sina joined the learning activities of the IOM Skills Development team and started learning Greek. IOM supported him to get registered in a public evening vocational school and Solidarity Now guided him through seeking and securing employment. He currently works during the morning for a local food packaging company and attends the school in the afternoon. What he enjoys the most is meeting people and engaging with the locals. “Getting closer to other people and letting other to come closer, is what can eliminate the prejudice”, he says. “And being at the school gets me closer to my dream of becoming someone who can make the world a better place to live in".
